This elegant yet comfortable Living Room is located in a private residence in Santa Barbara. Spieler Interior Design Associates provided all furniture, rugs, art and accessories.




“He wanted a theater, She wanted a living room”. is the title of the article published in Audio Video Interior Magazine June 2003 issue. The challenge of this space was to create a functional and beautiful Home Theater that featured exposed audio / video and equipment as requested by the client, yet design the room to be as sophisticated and graceful as the rest of the home.




What was once a very tired and basic looking hotel lobby is now transformed into an elegant and inviting entrance to a boutique hotel. The use of a linear patterned carpet with the refinement of Asian inspired items brings the lobby to a new level sophistication and class.




Orchid colors and unique furnishings make this bed and breakfast anything but ordinary. This photo is of The Orchid Inn at Santa Barbara, guest room number four.

Mixing this bed and breakfast’s existing antique furniture with new upholstery fabrics creates an elegant lobby that is fresh yet characteristic of classic inns. A lovely warm Roasted Sesame color on the walls helps keep the room a warm and inviting space for guests to relax.




Located near Hearst Castle, this hotel pool with its sculptural furniture and accessories mimics the majestic and grand statues found on the castle ground. Inviting colors and stunning fabrics add warmth and a true vacation like feel to this Exterior Pool Hotel in San Simeon, California.




Something as simple as paint color adds an architectural element to a once standard hotel room. Mixing furniture with modern lines and adding a sophisticated color palette updates this guest room exquisitely.




This entrance in an exquisite Montecito Hacienda style home leads to a custom Home Theater. This project was featured in the June 2000 issue of Audio Video Interior Magazine.




As featured in the June 2000 issue of Audio Video Interior Magazine, this is the lobby and “concession” area of a custom Home Theater. With all the elements of a real theater including popcorn machine and snacks, this room still works with the elegant style of the rest of the home with the ethnic rug and custom wrought iron light fixtures.




This photo is of a custom sixteen seat Home Theater and was featured in the June 2000 issue of Audio Video Interior Magazine. The colors meet the technical viewing requirements of a theater yet are elegant and work with other rooms in the home. The client’s personal collection of Pre-Columbian artifacts were displayed in Lucite frames.




This is the Reception Area for a Santa Barbara based dental practice. The space is functional for the needs of the office staff yet inviting for patients.
